Dr. Annunziato “Ned” Amendola Is the New AOSSM President

    Annunziato “Ned” Amendola, MD, was installed as the 45th president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) during the Society’s Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

    Dr. Amendola is a professor of orthopaedic surgery, Vice Chair in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and Chief for the Division of Sports Medicine at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He is also involved in Duke’s sports medicine and foot and ankle fellowship programs.

    His clinical and research interests focus on improving the understanding, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports and activity-related problems of the lower extremity.

    Dr. Amendola earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.
