ICJR Interviews: Proximal Femoral Replacement in Revision THA

Few studies in the orthopaedic literature discuss indications and outcomes for the use of proximal femoral replacement in massive femoral bone loss in revision total hip arthroplasty patients who do not have neoplasms.

Jacob Haynes, MD, and his colleagues at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, have added to the literature with their study, “Proximal Femoral Replacement for Massive Bone Loss in Revision Hip Arthroplasty: Indications and Survivorship” (Paper 822), which was presented at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in Orlando.
